Study Group

Updated June, 2012
Study Group is currently taking a summer break. It usually meets every two weeks; e-mail Dr Kyle at mlkhome@aol.com to confirm meeting dates.

Study Group teacher: Dr. Larry Kyle graduated from Lodi Academy in 1962, from Andrew's University in 1967, and from Loma Linda University in 1971. He teaches this weekly class in Biblical Philosophy. Larry is a dentist, has three grown children and lives with his wife, Janet, In Chico, CA.

The class meets every other Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., at the Chico Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1877 Hooker Oak Ave, in the library of the main sanctuary.

Dr. Kyle presents his ever-growing personal belief system. It is rooted in SDA tradition, inspired by the Bible, EG White, Jack Provonsha, Graham Maxwell, extensive study, and more, and stretches the boundaries and ideas of all who participate.

This class journeys through the Bible at the pace of it's members and is meant to be an interactive discussion group, but is principally a presentation. The class is not being conducted in order to provide answers for each topic, but rather to "awaken inquiry" into contemporary issues and approaches to "truth-seeking". Dr Kyle looks for the spiritual unity of truth he calls the "Golden Thread" in the Bible stories and messages. He encourages class members to establish their own belief system.

Audio tapes are available from the past several years of classes. MP3 files are available from August, 2006.  e-mail: aphanson@csuchico.edu for more information.
